As we mention the top watch manufacturers, most of you may instantly consider Rolex and Omega. Of course, both of them are high-ranked brands in watch industry. While, I have no intention to introduce them here. Instead, it’s about Baume & Mercier, the traditional Swiss watchmaking company since 1830. Though not having extremely great brand value like Rolex, it still dedicates for nicely crafted timepieces. The 2009 New William Baume Collection is not an exception.

Inspired by a single-button chronograph introduced in 1938, the new limited edition inherits from the modern design of William Baume series, and pays tribute to the traditional craftsmanship. Four models are included in the collection. Each of them has its own historical origins, and is marked unique serial number.

Take a good look at these classic watches. In a 41mm wide 18k rose gold case, the watch has a simple but elegant dial as well as gold hands and hour markers. There are some smaller Roman numerals on the dial, which make the time easily recognize. Bracelet is made from alligator leather, available in dark coffee or black colors. The most impressive detail is, through the large transparent sapphire crystal on back of the watch, you can easily see the operation of the mechanical movement. To be honest, I specially like the model with extraordinary tourbillion at the position of 9 o’ clock and small second hand at 6 o’ clock.
